Notable Friday Releases 5/1/20: Drake, Car Seat Headrest, HA:TFELT & More!
Drake - Dark Lane Demo Tapes (Mixtape)
Drake, the biggest artist of the last decade, has released his first full-length project in this new decade. Do not be confused, however, this is not an album and is not his followup to Scorpion (2018). This is instead best described by Drake himself, "put together alot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes)". In other words, it's more or less another Care Package (2019), this time with different leaks and some new songs. This mixtape also features his chart-topping single, "Toosie Slide". He confirmed in an Instagram post that his forthcoming album will indeed be releasing this Summer.Car Seat Headrest - Making a Door Less Open (Album)
Car Seat Headrest's new studio album is not a huge departure from their usual sound. The album sounds very similar to one of their older albums, How to Leave Town (2014). While it does take strides into pop, it is still true to the band's indie roots. A lot of people were unsure about whether or not they would like the album after hearing the singles and the album is out now so it's just a matter of time before we find out.HA:TFELT - 1719 (Album)
HA:TFELT, also known as Park Ye-eun, is a South Korean singer best known for her work in K-Pop group, Wonder Girls. This debut album contains 14 tracks which is quite long for a K-Pop album but the album also attempts to show its cross-genre leaps with some songs being ballads others being acoustic guitar. The album also sees her switching from English to Korean fairly regularly.
